The cure for road rage?

This past weekend an article in the Salina newspaper explained how the new 'In God We Trust' license plates are a cure for road rage. The title of the article actually reads 'Colby couple proffer plate as cure for road rage'.

Francis Landry, the sponsor of the bill, said "It's hard to have road rage when you're looking at a tag like that." So what I'm getting from this is that not only is it prosthelytizing, it's somehow magical or possibly has some form of mind altering power to it. Sounds like a bargain for $40. Maybe I'll get one and run some tests.

The article is similar to previous articles regarding the plates although this one does say that, as of July 24th, 652 plates have been purchased. Once they reach 1,000, production will start. I'm guessing they'll probably have the thousand by the end of August which means we might start seeing these in October.

Landry comes right out and says that the plate is "a little thing we can do to evangelize" and yet it's claimed to not be a representation of religion. I always enjoy how that works out for them. It's only religious when they want it to be.

The nice thing about having 1,000+ god plates in Kansas is that now they've made every other plate godless rather than just secular. It also means that there's a $40 discount for my godless license plate. I kind of feel the same way about the National Day of Prayer. That means that we have 364 National Days without Prayer. I tend to be a glass half-full kind of guy.
