ACT on the front page of the Topeka Capital-Journal
In today's (Sunday's) Topeka Capital-Journal, the Atheist Community of Topeka made the front page. It's a great article that should get the ACT plenty of attention. Here is a link: http://www.cjonline.com/news/local/2009-04-05/atheist_group_slowly_evolving
It will be interesting to see what the reaction will be. The online reaction will be predictable but it's the 'real world' that I'm curious about. I hope that it will mean an increase in interest and membership. I also hope that none of the current membership looks at this as a negative. There needs to be a voice for the non-religious and in Topeka and we're it. While I would like to change some people's misconceptions, I at least want it to be known that we are here.
In the article, the Atheist movement was compared to the gay movement which has been done many times before and is fitting. So, "We're here. We're Atheists. Deal with it."
