At least I don’t live in Arkansas
Arkansas just passed an initiative banning unmarried sexual partners from adopting or becoming foster parents. This was put out as a ban on same-sex couples from adopting but it applies to heterosexual couples as well. I don’t know what this would do if a single parent who wasn’t sexually active wanted to adopt. Are they going to hire a private investigator to make sure there aren’t any late-night booty calls going on? Because, as everybody knows, you can’t be a good parent if you fornicate.
Luckily it looks like South Dakota and California defeated their abortion bills. The most interesting ‘abortion’ bill however wasn’t an abortion bill at all. The State of Colorado voted on an amendment that would have changed the definition of ‘person’ to ‘any human being from the moment of conception’ in their state constitution. Luckily that one was defeated as well because that would have opened a whole can of worms. It seems to me that a woman who smoked, drank, did drugs or rode on a roller coaster (even if she didn’t know she was pregnant) could potentially have been arrested for child endangerment or providing alcohol/drugs/cigarettes to someone under-aged. Would she even be allowed in an establishment that has posted ‘No one admitted under 21’?
Arizona, California and Florida appear to have passed bans on gay marriage. This gay marriage thing is getting to be ridiculous. I really thought it had a chance to be defeated in California. This is not something that should be handled by a “majority rules” vote. It took the Supreme Court to put a stop to the miscegenation laws preventing interracial marriages and it will probably be the same this time. One of these days I’ll have to post a rant about the issue but I’ll refrain for now.
I’m assuming that Arkansas already has a ban on gay marriages in some fashion just like we do in Kansas (we’re so ahead of the curve). By the time Arkansas is done you’ll have to be a white, married, heterosexual Christian couple in order to adopt or be a foster parent. Once they get bans on abortion and contraception as well along with their abstinence only education in the schools, every married redneck couple in the state is going to have to adopt a dozen kids. So I’ll stay in Kansas because my wife and I can’t handle any more kids than we’ve got.

At least Arkansas doesn't have a water tower with the state's name spelled backwards 70-271 braindumps. That has to be the intellectual pinnacle of the land of the Huskers"
